Nemean Lion - the source of Xanthe's ability is a subtle mutation. All of the skin on Xanthe's body excluding the skin in her mouth is practically impenetrable. Tests taken in her early childhood have revealed that the structure of her skin cells gives her skin a score of 7.5 on the MoH scale of hardness. Making it harder than quartz, however it can be penetrated by materials with a higher score on the Moh scale. Internally her bones and organs are also more durable and she is able to withstand much more damage and higher levels of impact than the average person.Additionally she has several physical traits of a lion including a tail, which improves her balance, although she often conceals it to keep it out of the way. Furthermore she has a lower percentage of body fat than the average human, her teeth and nails are slightly sharper than the average human's and are as durable as her skin. While she can consume vegetables, she needs a higher level of meat in her diet than most people and while she can eat it raw, she does prefer eating cooked meat.Additionally she can see in the dark, has a heightened sense of smell and can hear people from as far as a mile away. She also displays several behaviour traits synonymous with the large feline and has the ability to both purr and roar due to compunded genes from her grandparents granting her vocal chords that are capable of producing both sounds.
Appearance
Xanthe is a relatively tall girl with a lean, muscular build. She has blonde hair which she usually keeps cut short and round brown eyes. She also has a natural tan as she spends a lot of time outdoors.Her natural resting face can often appear to be brooding which can give her a mysterious or even intimidating air, despite being relatively gentile. She also prefers shorts and trousers to skirts and often wears clothes that are more masculine in appearance in part because she finds them more practical, although she will occasionally chose to wear more traditionally feminine clothing on her days off or for formal events.
Personality
At first Xanthe is rather aloof, however she quickly reveals herself to be a thoughtful and reliable person and will often go out of her way to help others, on occasion taking hours out of her day to do so. She prefers to have only a handful of close friends, but she will view these privileged few as she would family and shows a great deal of loyalty to them.Generally she's quite serious but has a reasonably gentle and polite disposition; showing respect to both her peers and elders and watching out for those younger than her. She takes pride in her role and takes the responsibilities that come with it incredibly seriously and expects others to do the same.She's very active and enjoys all manners of sports as well as sparring, and can usually be found in the gym or out on the track. She can be studious but finds it tedious and so rarely achieves her full potential in a classroom environment, however this isn't to say that she doesn't have more relaxed hobbies and is surprisingly proficient in domestic skills and often finds comfort in the mindless routine involved with such tasks.
Background
Xanthe comes from a long line of warriors which can be traced back to the founding of the her home town; her ancestors would defend the town from predators and bandits, as well as various discriminatory groups that were causing a great deal of conflict at the time. And, their efforts were able to spawn a rare, tolerant environment for the period where all were welcome.When quirks first came about, her family were among the first to gain them and used it to defend others. Over time, it became a family tradition to send the firstborn child of each generation to train at a prestigious school and later become the Matriarch or Patriarch of the family when the current one either steps down or dies. The current patriarch is her Uncle, Nye Leonidas.Xanthe and her twin brother, Lotem, were born to Tawny and Zahavah Leonidas. The first of their generation. Despite being the younger twin, her older brother was significantly weaker and his health has remained extremely fragile since his birth and so it was unanimously agreed that Xanthe would be the one to represent the family when Lotem's health did not improve significantly enough for him to begin the first stages of his training.Despite this, the two grew up to be very close and doted upon their three younger siblings Orville, Oralee and Kin. Together they flourished under the love of their extensive family; consisting of their both sets of grandparents, seven aunts, four uncles, their spouses and their nineteen cousins.When the time came, she applied to various hero academies around the globe and was able to secure a placement at UA Academy in Japan. She is now in her third year and following her graduation, she intends to travel the world for a further three years to gain experience and knowledge of the world and all it has to offer.
